Cloverdale Dental Centre has been a family dentist office for almost 25 years; we love treating patients of all ages, especially the little ones! We offer many dental services, including specialized pediatric dental services, to ensure your child receives the best pediatric dental care possible. It is important to take care of a child's teeth from an early age to establish a healthy oral care routine.
It is our goal to make visiting the dentist a fun experience for children. Each child requires an individualized approach, and our team is ready to make your child feel comfortable and safe during their visit with us. In addition to routine check-ups, we provide emergency dental care to address urgent dental issues promptly. Proper dental care helps maintain healthy smiles for children.
We will work with you and your child during their appointed dental cleanings so they have a positive experience. If they open their mouths nice and big and let the dentist take a look, they can pick out a toy from the prize drawer!
Our dental clinic offers a range of dental services for children:
There is a nice window around the age of 2 when they have enough teeth to be checked; coming in too early may cause stress for the child if they can’t understand where they are or what is happening. Their first visit to the dentist should be a happy one: come in and see the office, meet the team, ride in the chair, talk to the dentist, and ensure a positive experience for our young patients. Bonus if they open their mouth and let the dentist take a look.
Most pediatric dentists recommend check-ups every 6 months. However, some children may need more frequent visits based on their dental care needs.
Pediatric dentists complete additional training specifically focused on children's dental health and development. They also specialize in creating a child-friendly environment and have expertise in managing children's behavior during dental procedures.
Modern dental X-rays use very low radiation doses and are considered safe for children when used appropriately. Pediatric dentists take extra precautions and only use X-rays when necessary for diagnosis and treatment planning.
You can read books about going to the dentist, play pretend dentist at home, and talk positively about the upcoming visit. Avoid using words that might cause anxiety and focus on the fun aspects of the visit.
Pediatric dentistry provides a wide range of services including cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, fillings, and early orthodontic assessments. They also offer guidance on proper oral hygiene and nutrition for optimal dental health.
Our goal is to ensure your child maintains a beautiful, healthy smile through comprehensive dental care.
Encourage good oral hygiene habits, limit sugary snacks and drinks, and consider dental sealants for cavity-prone areas. Regular dental check-ups and fluoride treatments can also help prevent cavities.
